what does sovereignty mean

can someone explain it : 
  1. Sovereignty is authority to govern a state or a state that is self governing.An example of sovereignty is the power of a king to rule his people.is it saying we should govern our self ????

It means inherent independence. For example, a sovereign person has the right to reject authorities (human made concepts) like the police force.

Of course, it happens only in theory.

ah wow so technicality we are free .   and we are of that nature sovereignty but everyone believes in system and is force in the corner
