"New age" internet entrepreneurs
#1
I am sick and tired of all these "new age" internet marketing entrepreneurs. They are everywhere, and have created a gazillion of blogs, named with ridiculous names like "the alpha wolf" "way of spartan" "big tiger" "warriors way". A brief look at their blogs, and you will soon find that 1st, you are a loser 2nd, because you are a loser, you MUST buy their e-book in order to become successful like them. Their usual advice in their books? cold showers, nofap,no porn, meat diet and the list goes on...

Whats worse is that they are constantly lying about their income. "I have an 100k revenue each month" but nobody asks them, really? how? From a 30dollar e-book and google ads? (which dont pay much anyway) come on...

Whats even worse, is that those cesspool blogs advice young teens and adults to AVOID college/university because "its a waste of time and money". Since when is education a "waste of time" ? Clearly the answer lies under their 50 page e-book right? To add to that, they say "internet marketing is the new way of being rich" BUT,  since you dont know jackshit of marketing at such a young age, and how it operates, you will ultimately "have" to buy their "internet marketing e-book" so that they will "educate" you how to market yourself. So... someone who is uneducated (if we take their advice of no college for real) is going to educate you about something that in the real world (not on the internet) requieres you to have a DEGREE .

For the vast majority of people a better education equals a higher income eventually.

Your income as an academic is - in average - substantially higher than that of a non-academic in the same field. Your risk of being unemployed (for a longer time) is - in average - significantly lower.

In general, having an academic education is a formidable long-term investment in yourself.

Yes, there are quite a few of these websites out there. I ran into one site called sigma wolf, which used a new gimmick saying that there is a supposed opposite of the alpha wolf, titled the sigma wolf who is introverted but still alpha. It's entertaining to read, but beyond that the site had little value.

Yes, one common theme from self-help gurus is that you need to follow certain routines. What the internet has is a sub-category of websites known as "blue prints for men" websites. They provide you with one-size fits all blue-print on how to be an alpha male. A famous one is Art of Manliness. It has a little value because it has some interesting sections that teach you useful skills such as how to tie knots. But most of the other self-help sites have none of this and are basically just telling to be like some idealized male that doesn't really exist. They like to indoctrinate every male to behave a certain way cause they claim it will guarantee you the things you want like women and money.

I know this might be irrelevant but I wanted to touch upon the things you mentioned that the sites discuss. Cold showers? There doesn't seem to be any medical evidence that a cold shower helps with anything other than it will make your skin react negatively to the cold temperature of water and cause the evade reaction. It might make you more alert/wake you up in the morning, but hot water can do the same. Luke warm showers during hot summers are relaxing though.

I see blogs from these sites titled "why you shouldn't masturbate." Every one of them. It's like they either all know it sells, or they think it's there own unique take on the blue print genre. Their reasoning is that it will make you more willing to go out and hit on women because of the increased testosterone from not masturbating. In reality, your testosterone remains fairly constant whether you masturbate or not. As in masturbating in moderation, not excessively.

Many medical studies suggest that masturbation has health benefits like stress/anxiety relief, plus you get a temporary mood boost after climaxing which may help you stay productive on something say homework, practicing a musical instrument, etc. It has worked like that for me. I masturbate for 20 minutes and then I feel amazing. I start playing piano or work on an essay and am enjoying it even as I make mistakes. Plus, masturbation is a natural human act. Men (and many women) have been masturbating for thousands of years. These self-help gurus think they are above "human nature/biology" and that they can beat it, but not really. Biology tends to reign supreme in areas of sex and other behaviors of humans. To fight biology is like becoming a Catholic monk and suppressing your natural emotions and urges.

Any self-help male guru who says it's wrong because masturbation gets in the way of you dating or hooking up with women is mostly lying. What gets you women is being courageous and repetitively stepping out into public places and talking with them. You fail, but sometimes you may succeed. Not masturbating will have a very small effect (if any) on that area. Proof? Well, I've masturbated on the same days that I went out to hit on women. In fact, I did it prior to going out as it gave me the energy boost to do it in the first place, suggesting that masturbating may in fact be helpful in a male's quest for women not hindering.

No porn. Porn in moderation is fine. There are some who get addicted for hours, but it's rare. Most men watch some porn, but it generally may take up an hour of their time at most. It's no different than watching a pointless TV show on Netflix for an hour. I actually downloaded a cheap e book on "why you should quit porn" out of curiosity. It lacked any citations from medical experts on the area of masturbation. Their logic is that it leads to objectification of women. Men are designed to obsess over the physical parts of women which basically is objectifying. So that argument fails as it goes against biology; something that we don't really have much control over.

Meat diet? We are omnivores. We can eat vegetables, grains, meat/seafood and anything else that doesn't poison us. Plus each human is responsible in choosing what foods they want to eat. Carnivore? Go right at it. Vegetarian, fine be my guest. Depends on the person.

They probably earn some income from having the site and subscribers, but the numbers are likely to be very exaggerated. I'd say if they are in reality making 20k a year they will round it up to 50k a year. 50k they may round it up to 100k. Or better yet they make at most a few hundred a month. No one knows except the owner of the site.

On college: It's better to have a "useful" degree. E.g. in STEM fields like engineering. Trade schools are good. The country is lacking electricians, plumbers and other jobs that no one wants cause they don't sound glorious, but those jobs pay fairly well. I know of a middle aged man who worked as an electrician for 20+ years. He owned a nice truck, a spacious house with a lawn, and could afford steak for his outside BBQ every day. Trades and college are both good things to have.

They are either exaggerators, complete liars, or may not even exist at all. The site could be developed from people in a 3rd world country being operated by a group of middle aged foreigners trying to get money to afford things in their wasteland country.

Best to avoid them. Don't go by blueprints. Develop your own ways of doing things. Each human is mostly unique and has a different set of circumstances which means that you'll have to figure out what helps you gain success on your own.

I am going to be blunt because I take this subject matter seriously.

If you could envision yourself watching pornography and masurbating from a third person viewpoint, you would stop. You would see how pathetic it looks.

Any 'man' that makes excuses as to why he watches pornography, is a weak man. If its so easy to quit and its not a addiction, then try quitting.

No watching series and movies is not the same as watching pornography. If you have ever spent more than 30 days away from porn only to relapse, you will feel a adrenaline feeling when you start again. This does not happen when you haven't watched a movie in over 30 days.

Actually masturbating for 1 hour is a long time. And if you watch porn for 1 hour straight, that is an hour of your life flushed down the toilet. Arguing that other activities might be equally as wasteful does not change the fact that pornography brings nothing good into your life.

That energetic feeling you get from watching porn can just as easily be placebo (perhaps your brain backward rationalizing). It seems you apply critical thinking to most of what you analyze, but when you discuss subjects that seem to not be in accord with your way of living you don't do the same. You said so yourself, on a daily basis you feel despair. Don't you perhaps think watching another man fuck a woman though a screen might be a small reason, perhaps one of many?

I have never heard of or met a man that regretted quitting porn. Not once. I do however know men that talk about quitting but never do. Like cigarretes, it feels good to talk about it, but the weak always stop short after the words leave their lips.

I have never heard of or met a man that regretted quitting porn. Not once. I do however know men that talk about quitting but never do. Like cigarretes, it feels good to talk about it, but the weak always stop short after the words leave their lips.
To make an excuse is by definition an attempt to explain why something is done or has not been done in order to "avoid" doing something. I stated porn in moderation is fine. I never explained fully why men watch porn or whether they do it to avoid something. The main reasons are most likely sexual relief or to live out sexual fantasies. I didn't give an example where watching porn made a man avoid doing something. If you inspect what I said exactly, basically what the man (or woman) avoided was doing "something else" for that hour of the time they watched porn. Whether that other activity may have been more productive/useful is situational. Who knows.

But we don't know if they avoided something else. Maybe that man had an hour of free leisure time to watch porn cause he was bored, but already completed his daily tasks for the day. Relative to him, watching porn didn't cause any damage to his well-being. But it could also be the case that the man may have had some other obligation to do, say doing laundry or walking the dog, but chose to watch porn out of an urge. But I never stated any of that. To say that men who do it are weak lacks any evidence. What does weak mean to you my friend? I'm guessing you mean mentally weak? I just stated that some men do it moderation for whatever personal reason they do it, though I didn't give the exact reasons.

I have a friend who watches porn on occasion. He is very productive and owns a huge/nice truck, has a wife and two dogs, a nice apartment, and works for a trucking company, hauling supplies and building highways and other needed structures for society. When I hang with him and his wife they seem happy together, he is cool and laid back, and seems to overall have a good life. I would say he is NOT a weak man. Basically you just insulted one of my closest friend. Your argument fails to say that "any" man who watches porn is weak. Some men maybe. But all? You are the one that's being illogical.

From a 3rd point of view? Hmmm let me think. Probably not really pathetic in all circumstances. How would you feel if you saw an attractive woman pleasuring herself? Would you call that pathetic or would your dic start getting taller and a smirk appear on your face cause you feel horny. Maybe you would think it's pathetic, but that's your own opinion and not everyone else's.

For me personally. I don't watch porn every day. I masturbate fairly often, but not always to porn. I do watch some porn though. I don't regret it much. It relieves me on certain days and it gives me that energy boost that has allowed me to get shit done. Usually for me I spend about 20 minutes watching the same porn/erotic scene downloaded on my computer each time I masturbate. I don't surf the web. So it's really not what I'd call addictive or time-consuming for me. An occasional pleasure.

If you quit for 30 days and feel you got an adrenaline rush then good for you. I speak mostly from my personal experience and some of what my friends say on how porn affects them, which doesn't seem to do so negatively.

My despair? Okay buddy, let me go into some detail there for you. My despair is from a variety of things (that go beyond women) that I've never spoken of. I've mentioned women for one. But these are women I've known personally and are not from porn shoots. Women who were vicious and manipulative. And there are lots of other factors. I've experienced things you may not want to know dude. Yes, quite obvious I have women issues, but it's not a matter of porn for me. I don't obsess over porn stars or have grudges against them. I obsess over the women who hurt me and who I once were around.

If they quit porn and they feel great then great for them. I've barely found that in my life. Most men however watch a little porn at least. Many men I've ever met from the 90s to the modern digital porn age had either a stash of magazines/dvds or a site/niche they were into. A lot of them aren't what I'd consider weak or unproductive.

Interestingly, you were the one that seemed to be complaining about these topics popping up on these sites. You gave nofap as an example, so I interpreted that as meaning you were sick of seeing that topic pop up. But now it seems you support the idea which suggests you may not be completely sick of sites you claim to be sick of. Interesting dude!

You are completely right. I am wrong.

This internet debate means absolutely nothing.

Whether I am correct or you are correct it makes no difference. I will take the bow so you don't have to write another essay responding to my responce. No insult intended.

If I insulted your friend, please apologise to him on my behalf, let him know that I didn't mean it.

Hey Brett,

Wait you posted that? I thought it was the OP that said that. I misread the order of posts. My bad Khrazz for saying "Interestingly, you were the one that seemed to be complaining about these topics popping up on these sites. Brett,

Well, I don't believe that there is a true/right wrong answer here. What made me a little offended is that you were generalizing your belief system onto other men who I know. I don't deny that porn could be bad for some men, though I don't think it's super common as the nofap movement makes it out to be, but I could be wrong or partially wrong as I don't know every man on this planet.

Anyways, you are correct that internet/forum disputes are a waste of time. We have outside lives that matter more than debating these small issues. Just finished a math assignment so I just got really OCD about wanting to reply.

I enjoy our other conversations man and don't want to offend you or make us enemies on here. I will be more careful with my critical thinking cause I do make mistakes as you say. You were the one that helped me out when I ranted on my rage against women and appreciate that man. I thank you for that.

Sorry we got into such a messy argument there. Let it pass.

And you are right that there was a flaw in my critical thinking. I stated "it's rare for men to be addicted for hours." I actually don't have evidence for that and mostly went by my own worldview and experiences. I probably should've said it's "less common for men to be addicted for hours" So I acknowledge that I do make mistakes, but still try to be logical as possible.

I guess you are talking about Victor Pride and the likes. Yes, it's getting repetitive and is kinda played out.

Hey bro, now worries. My world views and I are not perfect either. No ones are. Atleast we are both open to discussion about it and are not fixed in our ways.

I know I come across sometimes as passive aggressive (sometimes just plain aggressive) in my texts, I think its because I can be quite a intense and high energy person and this translates to very direct and often abrupt texts. So I can work on that too. Plus I do also say impulsive things even though I try to think things through as much as reasonably possible before i say them or text them. So my apologies for that aswell.

Like you say what we say on a forum is not so important anyway, its the way we live our lives outside the internet that truly matters.

I think your critical thinking is mostly spot on and I have also enjoyed the debates and conversations we have had so far.

I think its good that we both can disagree on subjects and still have conversations like this, it shows maturity and that we are both weathered. In other words we don't 'try hard to conform' to the general consensus and are prepared to stick by our beliefs (and have them challenged).

I hate these people more than I hate life itself. Perhaps it's because they're a bunch of annoying braggarts. I can't stand these people. They pollute every space they enter with their garbage marketing and advertising of their garbage that no one who has a brain gives a fuck about.
