I don't wanna talk about Silent Mike, it's obvious he is on gear, but I have to say something about Bob Peoples. There is no way and I mean no way that he head 705kg total (136/240/329) as an 82kg natty. Sorry, but that's just impossible. We could even argue whether that total is possible for anyone who is natural. Maybe for some heavyweight guys... So either he was on something (AAS were available in late 1940s) or those numbers are inflated. And while he had a crazy deadlift I am very skeptical about other lifts especially 240kg squat. He was built for deadlifts - long legs and arms and short torso - but he was not built for squats. And I have a hard time believing that he could hit a 240kg proper depth squat. By the way, he was also notorious for doing heavy partials and lockouts and we only have his claims and stories, the only official lift was his deadlift, so... I can give him a benefit of the doubt and say that he was a natty with ridiculous deadlift, but other lifts and total are just too much.

There are some sources that say he couldn't bench press his own bodyweight. He has the deadlift body type which immediately makes squats and benches harder.
