Just a quick question. Did you drink alcohol at all during the five months?

The first month I had 1 beer every other week.
After that I had none.
I'm not a drinker.
You can incorporate that into IF though.
Like, if I wanted to go out once a week and have 2-3 beers I would've done so.
I would have just planned on losing my 18 pounds in like 8 months instead of 5.
So, have your weekly beers and just take longer.
Like I said, you have to enjoy the process.

I tired IF once, not my cup of tea
In the end it all comes to calorie control
You should do cardio for health reasons and find activity than you could enjoy without too much strain

The longer the better if you want.
There are all types of fasting protocols.
I recently read about the 5 & 2 fasting strategy.
The is where you eat "normal" for 5 straight days (Monday thru Friday).
You then fast for 2 straight days where you dont eat anything (Sat & Sunday).
Something I noticed during my 5 months is that as I went along I was able to fast longer.
I was getting hungry later and later.
My first month I would fast for 12 hours.
My second month I would fast for 13 hours.
And so on.

First day trying this. I have to admit I'm starving at the moment. 2pm can't come round fast enough. I'm going to aim for a 1100 calorie meal then and then a 400 calorie meal before bed. Trying to get my daily calories at 1500 calories

Hey

The first couple days will be tough.
Play attention to the hunger.
You will be really hungry now for about 30-60 minutes then it goes away.
Sip coffee throughout the morning.
It kills your appetite.

And it doesn't have to be 2pm
Just push it back later than you normally eat

You're right. The hunger went away after a while. This morning wasn't too bad after the initial skipping breakfast. Just gotta wait and see what the evening is like now Smile

Damn, ya see?
Just see how far you can push out that first meal.
It is an awesome way to restrict your daily total calories.
