Programming ideas for multiple lifts
#1
Hey all,

I'm interested in improving on the following lifts: deadlift (~400lb 1rm), weighted pullup (bw+90lb 1rm), weighted dip (bw+~105lb 4rm), bench press, overhead press. Do you think it's a better idea to try to train all of them simultaneously or to pick 2-3 to progress on then swap them out for different ones? I'm a big fan of high-frequency programs like the ones from Pavel but for the last few years have been doing more bodybuilding style training.

Thanks.

I would suggest you to read Practical Programming for Strength Training. Rippetoe is delusional in many ways, but when it comes to strength training and periodization, it's a really good book and easy to read.

I have it and am planning to read it soon. Agreed about Rippetoe. Thanks.
