Joe Weider - Simple Simon - 01-17-2019 (As has been discussed in other threads) "a powerful example of all that can be accomplished by working hard" https://www.weiderworld.com/blog/bigger-the-movie Interestingly, Weider published his first magazine in 1940, so pre-steroids. RE: Bigger - a Joe Weider biopic - TruthSeeker - 01-17-2019 May be an interesting movie for the kids, but I am not thrilled by it. It's probably the same old blue pill. RE: Bigger - a Joe Weider biopic - Simple Simon - 01-17-2019 ^ By working hard, believing in yourself and never giving up, you can achieve your dreams. Probably true for Weider. But his dream was actually to be a scam artist from day one. Wrapping his lies in a concern for peoples health; a scam the fitness industry is still running to this day. Anything directly involving money (Banking, insurance, finance, investments) all seem to be about deceit...but in a nice salesy way... RE: Bigger - a Joe Weider biopic - Simple Simon - 01-20-2019 Dhttps://israelpalestinenews.org/what-the-new-film-bigger-leaves-out-about-weiders-schwarzenegger/ " ... Weiders ... discovered ... Arnold Schwarzenegger and brought him to America. They got the aspiring bodybuilder an apartment, bought him a car, and crafted him into a celebrity, tutoring him on everything from his exercise regimen and real estate investments to how to wear his hair. Joe Weider told the New York Times, “We created Arnold.” " RE: Bigger - a Joe Weider biopic - Hans - 01-20-2019 (01-20-2019, 01:21 PM)Simple Simon Wrote: Dhttps://israelpalestinenews.org/what-the-new-film-bigger-leaves-out-about-weiders-schwarzenegger/ The older I get, the more fairy tales turn out to be just untold stories ... We all knew "the truth" yet still dreaming to looks like them (or half of them) once in the life, nope? Although, hard truth is "keep dreaming" lol I don't know about other but even I knew the truth they all on drugs, I still enjoys watching them, the way they training, the way they "risking". I would not train like them ever but watch them do training as I also did training, its joy to watch at least. And I think I got motivated by watching them. With hard truth that I probably not became like them. RE: Bigger - a Joe Weider biopic - Simple Simon - 01-25-2019 ^ Joe Weider was a scam artist who deliberately played on naïve teenage boys. I read a comment on the Weider's once that blew me away: Their hero's were those that could manipulate the masses. Appearance over what is real was always the goal. And, they pulled it off. Even their training videos are mostly scam. They do not train that way (maybe Ronny Coleman did once in a while, but we all know where that got him ...). It's just them rationalizing their size. Most of their training advice is even rubbish. They are essentially big clowns, modern-day freaks, scam artists. But then ... live and let live.
