Oly shoes and Squats - Ramy_Saber - 12-14-2018

Hi guys,  Smile

So I been doing front squat until I got tired, my back got tired, my Abs can no longer handle this work. I started feeling that's a deadilf squat, a game of supporting the bar more than squatting it Sleepy Angel

So I say to: high bar squat, but I can't find an only shoes and connot afford the price now.

Can I use running shoes since it have high heel?
Or better put a plate under my heel while wearing converse?  Huh Huh Huh

I can’t stand oly shoes. I’ve tried them several times but they just feel so weird. I kick my shoes off to squat and deadlift. Soft running shoes are not very stable especially when you start getting heavy.

Running shoes suck for squatting. Unstable and squishy.

If you want to try a squat shoe but don't have the money, you can always use dress shoes - they have a thick sole and a heel. The old school weightlifters lifted in those before there were special Oly shoes.

Are you serious? I am actually interested to try it

I normally squatting barefoots, nope I am not Arnie hardcore or anything, I just don't use shoes at home gym.

I do High Bar squats just fine but I wonder if I put elevated heels shoes will make wonder.

And I happens to have a old pair of dressing. The only thing that paused me now is safety lol.

Haha, only don't throw your money on the new dressing shoes - you can find some second hand ones dirty cheap and they will be just fine for training

I used the shoes from my prom for a while. It was a long time ago, and I don't remember anything special about the experience except that some people were outraged at the way I was dressed - sweat pants and dress shoes.

They will keep you very upright. Not good for weak knees, though.
