  Drug User Mentality
Posted by: Templar - 04-02-2020, 04:41 PM - Forum: Natty Or Not - Replies (1)

This is amusing...

Case no. 1: A friend of my friend is in his 50s and is using drugs. My friend is not that experienced, but even to him the guy looks suspicious. So he asked him, after all they are friends. "No, I am not using anything." My friend showed me the picture and of course it wasn't even debatable. And then he wondered why his friend was lying to him. I mean, it was really funny to me, they are friends, but he still did it.

Case no. 2: A guy who is a bodybuilding competitor said, I am paraphrasing "I know a guy who is a lifetime natural, he only did two cycles...". And I was like how the fuck are lifetime natural and two cycles even in the same sentence... But apparently after two cycles you are still natural.

Case no. 3: Another bodybuilding competitor said in the comments on his instagram, I am paraphrasing again "Right now I am on nothing, so I have to train differently..." and a few sentences later "But as I said I am on 250 mg only". I am not joking, it was in the same comment. But no, he didn't make a slip, in his own mind he really thinks that 250 mg is nothing. So he is on nothing. And while you are cruising, well, you are basically natural.

  Stuart McRobert

Did anyone know that Stuart McRobert has a 'Hardgainer' website, and is still writing books.
Anyway, on his site I found this

Q. You teach training methods that don't need drugs to make them work. Are you sure the guys whose photos you feature aren't drug-assisted?

The only way to be sure there are no photographs of drug-enhanced men on this website is not to have any photographs of men published here other than those that were taken over 70 years ago. But that would be extreme response to the rampant use of drugs in the worlds of bodybuilding and strength training today.

The most obvious examples of drug-fed physiques are the muscle monsters that abound in the mainstream bodybuilding press. But at the “moderate” levels of muscle development shown on this website, it’s not possible to identify with certainty whether or not the men have used performance enhancing drugs (PEDs).

Even lesser levels of muscle development don’t necessarily guarantee drug-free status. The use of bodybuilding drugs is so common today that there are some men on them who don’t have physiques in line with that assistance because they don’t train well enough.

Sourcing suitable photographs to illustrate this website is tricky. Dishonesty abounds among users of PEDs. Consider the high-profile users of PEDs in cycling, athletics and other sports who were adament they were drug-free until they were eventually exposed. Many “drug-free” or “natural” bodybuilders use PEDs.

Some men and women who are drug-free have exceptional physiques because they have good genetics for bodybuilding and they trained and recuperated well for many years.

So, I can’t be sure that all the men in the photographs illustrating this website are drug-free. But what’s most important is that the instruction promoted on this website doesn’t need drug assistance to make it work, or exceptional genetics for bodybuilding.

How well the instruction works, though, depends on how well it’s applied and for how long, the genetic potential of the individual for bodybuilding, and the individual’s age, current level of development, and health.

From the reviews

BY the 1960s, the period that another magazine termed “the Dianabol Decade,” it was possible for guys with the potential of Hercules to gain on routines nobody else could, now that they were on anabolic steroids—and ghost writers wrote up these routines and presented them as models for the rest of us. What it did, of course, was create a market for food supplements. From the 1960s to now, most bodybuilding magazines evolved into glorified supplement catalogues, selling pills that the bodybuilding stars didn’t even take. (They had what they needed in the needle they got stuck with.)

In your opinion, what are the benefits of exercise for natty ladies, apart from substitute for physical activity in motionless life.
TrueSeeker mentioned that their bodies did not change in a long run. However, gyms are full of girls.

  AAS and 1940s
Posted by: Templar - 03-30-2020, 04:53 PM - Forum: Natty Or Not - Replies (12)

Many people repeat the same old story about Ziegler and Dianabol, the first ever oral steroid,  and how everything started in the mid '50s. So guys from the late '40s and early '50s were all natural, right? Well, let's see...

The first 17α-alkylated AAS was actually methyltestosterone and it was synthesized back in 1935 and approved in 1936.

But-but it wasn't widely available, it was available only to scientists and researchers, right? Just listen to your guy Eric Helms.

An ad in Popular science, november 1948

I'll leave a screenshot too.

So you could already buy methyltestosterone for 5$ (that's like 50 today) in 1948... But it was only hard work and lifting heavy.

  Naturally Enhanced
Posted by: самолёт - 03-28-2020, 05:43 PM - Forum: Training - Replies (3)

Hi guys,

I’m currently doing mostly bodyweight exercises because the gym are closed BUT I’ve just discovered on the internet Alexander Leonidas, and his program “Naturally Enhanced” (415 pages).

Well it’s interesting but very different from the traditional split routines, the guy advocates only 2 full body a week, one intensity day and one volume day, each of them followed on the next day by aka “mini workout” based on banded work, stretching, neck training and for those with great recovery capacities GPP.
Very close to what I think is good for.natty !?

Emphasis on the upper body, neck, traps, shoulders and arms.

I’ve been looking for reviews on internet but nothing, well I barely believe the guy is natural (1m65 / 80kg, moreover i ve read the article on the site...) but I think there is some good things to keep of is work (concurrent periodization, 2 full body a week, upper body emphasis…) what do you think ,

have you ever tried ? would you recommend / use it ?

below, 1 week routine example :

Intensity Day
Overhead Press 1RM or 3x1@90%
Close Grip Bench Press 3x5
Miniband Face Pull 3x33
Conventional Deadlift 1RM or 3x1@90%
Power Shrug 5x5
Plate Pinch 3x15-30s
Reverse Hyper 3x10
Standing Cable Crunch 3x10

Volume Day
Overhead Press 3x8-12
Z Press from Chest 5x5
Incline Dumbbell Extension 3x12-15
Rope Pushdown 3x33
Rope Face Pull 3x20
Below the Knee Rack Pull 4-5x4-6
Power Shrug 5x20
Standing Dumbbell Shrug 3x8-12
Wide Grip Lat Pulldown 3x8-12
Hammer Curl 3x10
Plate Pinch 3x30-60s
Reverse Hyper 3x20
Standing Cable Crunch 3x20
