Lets say you see a guy face to face... maybe at work... who is making all the mistakes you made in the past. Maybe he's crippling himself with a starting strength routine and turning into a fatso on a gomad diet. Or maybe they are spending a fortune on creatine and whey protein. Do you ever try and give these people advice in the hope you are helping them with the truth or do you just let them get on with it?

I try not to say anything, because I guess they have to make their own minds up, but usually, when I get talking to these people and they start regurgitating Rippetoe or T-Nation advice, I can't help but express my opinions. It usually falls on deaf ears though, and I kind of see why. I wouldn't have listened to a random brah at one point either when I was doing Starting Strength. I was sure I had the answers due to my extensive research on the internet and it was only when I started questioning it myself that I realised I was barking up the wrong tree.

Still, it really pains me when I see people wasting so much time with bad information.
Rarely.

Everybody is a genius today thanks to Google. Everybody knows everything. So, unless they are putting their life in danger, I wouldn't say anything because I don't really care. I often see noobs who are obviously doing "Rippetoe's" or some 5x5 stuff. They may squat with atrocious form - knees caving in...etc. I would not go and say anything to them.

Because you don't convince people. People convince themselves. Arguing is a waste of time. So, if some dude has to tear a knee ligament to figure things out, that's his path.

When I was deadlifting with bad form, people gathered around and some of them told me I look like a camel. Did I listen?

At first, no. I was stubborn, brainwashed and stupid. I was putting my spine at risk for some nonsense numbers that today I couldn't care less about.

In fact, I consider the mixed grip/hook grip/strap deadlift close to pointless today. But at the time, I was saving the world. Nobody could have convinced me in the opposite.

In short, unless there's a serious risk, I rarely try to educate people.
the only way people educate themselves if they find the trueth "them-selves"

You can offer advice. help all you want they won't even listen

Hence why Cobb had to do an inception three levels down on Fisher to make him see the "light" His decision.

I was the same in the gym. If i had some nosy, fat personal trainer trying to give me advice (and it was f**** shit advice) I wouldn't listen to them. Thank god.
In the real life, its annoying when I try to teach my friends something.

They will simple says "I don't care, just google it and I will get it".

OR when I want to chat with my friends to discuss on something out of boredom.

They will simple says "I don't care, just google it and YOU will get it".

What. The. Fuck. Wrong. Of. This. World. These. Day.

Google is not bad but I find its so annoying.
